Local
residents versus Morden VW car showroom
A story of concern to residents of Ravensbury Court,
Merton Surrey, centres around the local VW Volkswagen
garage on Morden Road. For some years now, this garage
has been collecting its refuse at between 4.30am and
6am to the annoyance of the local residents. It has
also been making deliveries of engine parts at between
2.30am and 5am. Despite continued complaints by local
residents, neither the local management or VW head
office have actually stopped the night-time working.
Efforts are now being made to secure a prosecution
on VW itself.

VW promote proximity to NT Park, despite ignoring
their environmental responsibilites ...
Volkswagen UK have started a local advertising campaign
on Radio Jackie, which promotes their proximity to
local National Trust property Morden Hall Park. The
advert states "only
100m from Morden Hall Park". What's
amazing about this is that for the past 5 years they
have been disregarding complaints about their night
working - the local residents enjoy the peace and
quiet of the local parks, but local
VW staff ignored noise complaints made
to them directly. VW are now using the same local
references to advertise their cars! For VW to suddenly
try to promote their business using local beauty spot
Morden Hall Park, demonstrates their ignorance of
the local community. Merton Council & Guardian
newspapers are now pursuing the story.
If
you visit
their website, you will see that it pretends to
have been on the site for 25 years! In actual fact
they've only just arrived, and that's been enough
for the locals!
