Pictures of Sidmouth Beach
Replenishment Project 1995

images by uk photographer Christopher Holt

A construction project in 1995 to replenish the beach at Sidmouth in Devon. Amec Marine, Van Oords and Posford Duvivier worked on the construction of two offshore islands, together with adding tonnes of beach material and renewing the promenade. These images were taken before I became a professional photographer, but I like them for their sense of place and how people are at ease with their team mates. My job on this project was to supervise and set-out the works as a site engineer. I now shoot progress photography for construction companies - for examples of my professional photographic work, visit www.holtcivils.com
