Rouen and Normandy in northern France are two jewels just a stone's throw from England (it's exactly 200 miles drive from London to Rouen). The coast is magnificent, and the seafood is equally satisfying. Obviously summer will give you the longest days and best weather, and it's usually easy to avoid the tourists because of the spacious countryside and long coastline - the hotels can get busy though. Spring and Autumn are just as good though, and a weekend is so easy to arrange. |
