A great deal of Normandy seem to lay undiscovered by most. I've often visited Rouen and explored the nearby countryside and coastlines without bumping into ANY tourists or traffic jams. If you are visiting Rouen, hire a car and drive west along the Seine's northbank, using the smallest roads (map) - you will pass by many historic sites such as St Martin & Jumieges, eventually finding the sea near the Pont du Normandie (map). From here you can either head north to Etretat (map) or south to Honfleur & the Cote Fleurie (map) |
